A striking handmade German swirl in crystal clear glass, decorated with alternating bands of bright lemon yellow and white bordered gold aventurine. The aventurine is dense and genuinely sparkling, throwing copper and gold flash in direct light, and it is paired with crisp opaque white edging that makes each band read cleanly against the clear base.
The bands run pole to pole over a clear center, so the marble reads differently from every angle. Viewed down the pontil, the strands sweep into a tight pinwheel.
Both pontils are the melted, feathered type correct for German handmade production, roughly 1860 to 1910. Scattered internal seed bubbles are present, as expected and desired in glass of this age and method.
Size: 23/32
Condition: Mint-
A genuinely attractive example. Aventurine marbles in this condition do not come around often, and the yellow and gold pairing is one of the more desirable color combinations in the German handmades.
