A beautiful early Christensen Agate Company Striped Opaque with vivid orange flowing through a warm white opaque base. Numerous fine layers of orange, cream and white create an exceptionally active pattern, ranging from broad sweeping bands to tight, concentric folds.
The marble displays the distinctive two-seam construction associated with this type. Its pattern changes dramatically as it is turned, with several particularly strong display views.
Condition is Near Mint+ (8.9), as graded by longtime marble authority Bob Block. A very tiny chip is present and visible in the photographs. No attempt has been made to minimize or conceal the condition issue.
Made by the Christensen Agate Company in Cambridge, Ohio, circa 1925–1930.
