A colorful and unusual antique German handmade Ribbon Lutz marble. Suspended within the clear glass are two distinctly different ribbons: one in vivid opaque yellow and the other in transparent emerald green. Bright white threads define the ribbon edges, while broad bands of active sparkling golden Lutz bring it to life.
Some views emphasize the luminous yellow ribbon, while others reveal the depth and clarity of the bubbly emerald-green glass. The golden Lutz remains visible around the marble and gives this compact antique example considerable presence.
The surface has two tiny flakes near the top, both visible in the photographs. These are reflected in the Near Mint+ condition grade of 8.9 assigned by longtime marble authority Bob Block. Please examine every image for a complete view of the marble and its condition.
Germany, circa 1860–1920. Measures 9/16 inch at the widest point.
Size measured at the widest point with digital calipers.
